Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit's "Flip the Script" program joined the office of Detroit Mayor Dave Bing and others to resurrect Detroit through literacy, employment and action in a townhall forum event January 8, 2011.

The daylong "Resurrection of Detroit's Black Man" program brought together political, religious and community leaders and hundreds of Detroit residents to create and discuss real solutions. "Flip the Script" program director Keith Bennett describes the program in this interview with Detroit's WDIV-TV.

"Flip the Script" was created to engage Detroit's young men in learning how to overcome devastating socio-economic circumstances and reconstruct their lives. Since its inception in 2003, more than 80 percent of "Flip the Script" graduates have engaged in meaningful career opportunities. The program specializes in empowering young males through the enhancement of academic skills in math and other disciplines.
