My 2 day 1 night walk through of Myakka River State Park. Awesome park; I highly recommend it! Please feel free to leave comments or ask any questions. Enjoy! ;-)
I've camped out at Panther Point once each winter for the last four years now, I always enjoy it. The trip is always different. I remember how wet the '09-'10 season was. Fortunately, I didn't get to the real wading until the second day on the way back to the truck. Last winter was the total opposite, the whole place was dry as a bone with just a few mud holes left for the gators.
Even though it's early, I think I'll call and make my next back country reservations today.
@aphnbd I would take a camelback, a MSR or other quality pater fiter with me and TONS of DEET. It's flat brutal with deer flies mosquitos and bees at bee island in the summer.
me and my friends jus got back made it to pather point one day walking the sunbaked driving road and had to follow powerline road to escape everyone ran outta water but me this was the hardest thing ive ever done in my life
great video! i've hiked there twice, camped at bee island. what an awesome place, you have captured the beauty and splendor of it. i saw a guy out there with a handtruck hitched to his frame pack carrying all his water and heavy gear!LOL
Is backcountry camping free?
thank you and all the best

It looks like you went to bee island via the trail then came back via powerline road. Just some pics out of order and shot looking back on the trail

Excellent, thank you very much! What gators are you using and recommend? What is the best water purification gear for about a week there?
