I get many patients that have undergone this "treatment" who have been made worse. If the disc is swollen it is already posterior.Stretching the annular fibers of the disc in the posterior makes the damage worse. Study the anatomy of the disc. Long lever maneuvers "traction" have been shown to be highly traumatic to the disc in the posterior aspect.I am familiar with traction techniques. CBP effects the ANTERIOR portion of the disc thus restoring natural curves NOT the posterior portion of it.
Traction makes an already swollen disc even more swollen (WORSE). It also causes more posteriority in the vertebrae, effectively causing unnatural straightening of the entire spine (BAD). Belief has nothing to do with it. You can either give an adjustment or refer your patients to someone who can.
It's intersting to see how today's knowlwdge, may or may not disqualify his beliefs. We know that traction in some cases is helpful for many disc patients (or at least decompresion is)

ImDacrusha,
If you new more about tractions used in chiropractic (COX technique), you wouldn't talk about a swollen disc...
Concerning the posteriority, it doesn't make sense. A few seconds of traction won't fix any vertebrae in a posterior poition.
Every chiropractor has improved patients conditions that other DC's couldn't. It doesn't mean X technique is better than Y technique...
Humility.
