How big will the tooth be? When this video was made 20 miles by 20 miles seemed quite logical now with new cracks opening cracks slowing refreezing, the tooth could be 20 60 or even more miles wide. Glad its not my job to predict. I guess we will know this time next year

Of all the ice shelfs in the world the Amery Ice shelf is the critical one. If the Amery Ice shelf goes then a big chunk of the East Antarctic ice sheet will be free to move into the sea, Making Al Gore's worst case senario seem hopelessly optemistic.

The ice shelf does not rise the sea level. The ice shelf is already in the water. Whats dangerous about melting ice shelves is, that the ice crust on top of the antarctic land mass will drift into the sea once the shelf holding it back is gone. And this ice crust will contribute between 2 and 8 meters of sea level.
