What a suprise: Two white men don't understand why 60 Minutes might find it newsworthy to do a piece on the congress[wo]man poised to be the first woman in our 230 year history to serve as Speaker of the House of representatives - second in the line of succession to the office of the presidency. Anyone who saw the piece also saw that it was a very tough piece - basically accusing Pelosi of hypocrisy.

Two white men? What on Gods green earth does that have to do with anything? They are simply commenting on the difference in coverage by CBS on Pelosi compared to Gingrich. The fact that Pelosi is radical leftist is never mentioned once.

First of all, "liberal" and "left" are not the same thing. Technically, the media is left-centrist, but in a free press, they're supposed to be. Left, meaning slightly critical of the power structure, meaning wherever the consolidation of power and wealth lies. If you had a right-wing media, it would be a propagandist outlet (i.e. Fox News, WSJ). So, you're kind of right if you are claiming the media is "left", but that's their appropriate position in a democratic society.

The U.S. is - establishment wise - VERY CONSERVATIVE by any meaningful definition.

The problem is that America is SOO FAR-RIGHT politically, that the truly looney ideologues of the extreme ("social conservatives") confuse the tiniest bit of modernity or secularism with "the radical left."

Of course, that's laughable. You guys have two capitalist, pro business, pro-elitist parties; the only dif is one PLAYS to the crazies more, and supports different big spender projects than the other.

By the way, Fox isn't just an exception in this corporate bias it's an outlier. It's the one channel that not only loves the fact that the US is participating in illegal wars and crushing the middle class but is openly cheer-leading the whole time.

When the governments decides to privatize social security and invade 10 different countries at once, Fox will love every minute of it while the other networks pretend to be balanced.

How is the media "liberal" when the vast majority of the media quotes conservative sources more then center or liberal?

How is it a "liberal" media when there's a million business shows and channels and not even a single show dedicated to labor or the working class?

How is it "liberal" when not a single news report questions the legality of US wars like the completely illegal Iraq War?

There is a corporate, pro-power bias, not a liberal bias
