Gus's Funeral: The funeral ties multiple families not just Olivia and Natalia but I included it because it helps to explain why Rafe goes to prison among other things. Everyone shares their fondest memories of Gus.


Olivia still does not want to live, she doesn't want Gus's heart.

Natalia doesn't want to have a funeral but Harley arranges one and tells Natalia. Rafe is also struggles with Gus's passing.

Rafe is going to the funeral so Natalia decides to attend as well.

I like that both Ava and Harley refer to Olivia and how they wish Gus's heart helps her being better. I really doubt that a physical organ has anything to do with that, but the truth is Olivia has indeed become a better person.

Natalia was very humble in this clip and gracious to everyone, but I thought Ava showed some real depth of character acknowleding Gus' sacrifice with heartfelt gratitude. She was Olivia's representative, standing up for her mom,showing she (Liv) was worthy of Gus' heart.

I also liked her devious side by making Bill think she was pregnant with his baby...couldn't help herself, it's in the genes.

I think that Gus wanted to show The Spauldings that you didn't need Steak & Lobster, The Opera, and Champagne and the "finer" things in life. He wanted them to look at life in a positve manner but somehow it never materialized. Ava made a mistake, Gus is her Uncle since Phillip and Gus were Brothers although they didn't grow up together.

wow...those were powerful funeral scenes...the eulogies were so moving...the ending clips of the police officers paying their respects with the voiceover of psalm 23...great writing & direction GL!

Nat did a good job speaking and in her own way basically said that Gus would live on in Liv without saying those exact words....this is when slowly Liv & Nat start the friendship process...very slowly!!

Yes, I do believe you're right, OtaliaNut! The GL writers were starting to get the Otalia thing slowly moving to see what the fans and all thought. They were all great!!!
