FYI. The term "nervous breakdown" is outdated and vague. Ms. Barton suffered from depression which is classified as a brain disease. Also, from what I've read, she did not leave teaching because of any "nervous breakdown". She left teaching after the New Jersey school system demoted her and replaced her with a man. It was the discriminatory practices of that era that motivated her to leave teaching. That being said, I compliment you on your selection for spotlighting this admirable woman.
