A tribute to Paul. The audio was recorded on tape from a live performance in Portland in 1997. The pix are from my own collections and Paul's website.

  • i remember paul delay from years ago when i lived in portland..ive since learned hes passed away..so sorry to hear..can someone tell me how he died?

  • I believe that after a tour, he had not been feeling well. He felt badly enough to check himself into a hospital. At that hospital visit, it was discovered that he had advanced stages of leukemia. He soon lapsed into a coma and died two days later.

  • @quinoacat TESTIFY. TELL IT

  • These photos are from an appearance at Waterfront Blues Festival with Rockin' Johnny Burgin from Chicago sitting in on guitar. The audio is from another live appearance with me on guitar.

  • I just learned some real cool back story on this song!

  • I catch this tune on some late Sunday nite a.m. Blues show coming back to texas via Arkansas, all static- y as hell . Been looking for this Cat for a few years, all the time waving this song as my flag. Wish like hell I could have seen him./ glad as hell to find out his name and be able to check out his other stuff.

The Blues continue to bless my soul! RIP Big Man. thanks for the groove.

  • Love and Miss Paul DeLay!

  • @nikkiespage......Agreed I remember him at the Key Largo....I bought "The Other One" Had him sign it and gave it to my cousin (Drummer) in MT . And also still great but there will always be a void at The Warterfront Blues Festival with out him there.

  • His greatness is unsupassed if you ask me,I just wish ther was more vedio of him.

  • Nothing like music in the Portland area during the 60's 70's and 80's! Was very lucky to see some amazing musicians including Paul - almost any night of the week.

  • No one could soulfully and humorously tell a story like the one and only Paul DeLay! We miss you big man!

  • Just so you know, up there in heaven, we all had a great time at this years blues festivals and you are truly missed, I hear it from all over the place, How great of a harp player/singer you are and Paul you will never be forgotton, thanks for your humour too! We miss you.
