  • I appreciate your apology. Again, this is a youth praise group, being given a chance to develop and explore their gifts.

The measure of "having the Holy Spirit" comes not in being emotional, or in being a good performer. It comes in the manifestation of Christ's own grace and lovingkindness. That's the essence of a life lived as worship. This is what we try to show to "nonbelievers."

  • We have. Those who have expressed an interest and shown musical gifts are being given an opportunity to learn and grow, with a congregation that's willing to care for and support them. We use these videos to both share worship with others, and to help train our praise teams. It's how folks grow in faith, in the knowledge that we don't expect perfection to come in an instant.

  • They get that in worship when 1) we pray 2) we read scripture 3) we proclaim the Word through the message 4) we pray again 5) we manifest grace to one another.

The knowledge of Christ's love comes when people live it out. That includes our worship experience.

  • If it is just simple fellowship session, with singing-along like such, is fine.

What I am seeing, is a live worship in church, where not just fellow members are present, people who needs to know how much God loves them, are there.

Being greeted with reluctant worshippers simply makes them confused, hence being nice, having 'faith, mutual acceptance & forbearance', is justifiable if it is within a small session when all eyes are forbearing & accepting, no matter how reluctant they are.

  • My apologies for being harsh on my words in mocking them being lousy or insincere, but I strongly believe that Worship, is not singing-along or letting unhappy kids have the chance to use the microphone on stage.

If the worshippers cant be happy when worshipping the One who Gave up All, then pick someone else whose heart is really into Worship to minister to the congregation, especially non-believer friends who are there for the first time, people who doesnt have the Holy Spirit, yet.

  • Yes, I can understand your brotherly love for your worshippers.

Basically if you want to put up an advertisement becoz you believe your product is good for the people, so that more will get to benefit from it, you dont put up an advertisement that says that your product is making you unhappy and reluctant.

Choose your people correctly, that's what the Holy Spirit does. With peace & joy.

  • So we should judge our worship by the standards of this world? The true meaning of worship is not technical perfection in performance, or the degree to which a praise leader shows emotion. Those things are the measures of the World, and can be found in any secular concert.

What we teach in worship is not performance, but faith, mutual acceptance and forbearance.

Your comments may have been well meaning. If it is your intent to be constructive, then attend to your language.

  • Those gathered for worship..even our new members..knew these were our youth, and welcomed and sang along with them. You said they were "lousy." You had to "close your eyes because you couldn't stand the sight." This is not mockery? There is nothing encouraging or gracious in what you've said. Be aware of yourself, little sister.

  • Again, you are in no position to judge their hearts. You appear to confuse performance quality with the presence of the Holy Spirit. This is understandable, and it's common among contemporary Christians. That does not make it right. The measure of the Spirit's presence in our hearts can be found in 1 Corinthians 13.

The church is Christ's body in creation, not a "big company." Our criteria are different.

  • Not everyone, especially sinners whose eyes are not opened, would have 'kind' eyes to 'support' kids singing on stage. They are there to be ministered, to receive 'Hope', and seeing the vessels as testimonies of His Glory is vital. One without 100% kind eyes may be confused and debate the true meaning of worship when they see this.

Pls see my comments as a pure advise to motivate improvision instead of condemnation.
