October 7, 2010 -- An escaped slave and the AASG's Associate Simon Deng speaks at 2010 Sudan Freedom Walk Rally in Washington DC. Along with a distinguished Darfurian leader Dr. Abdel Gabar Adam, Simon has just completed a 250 mile march from New York to Washington to raise awareness about the upcoming referendum in Southern Sudan; to bring the world's attention to the ongoing genocide in Darfur and slavery across Sudan and to call on the Obama administration to ensure the vote in January 9 of 2011 is free, fair and transparent.
