I wouldn't go as far as to say Bose is the clear winner compared to the Type R Alpine components. Type Rs can handle far more power than Bose speakers. Also they are all just speaker drivers. What makes them sound good is the TUNING of the signal, how strong the signal is, the signal to noise ratio of the amplifier, and whether or not the individual drivers are installed in some kind of enclosure reinforced by a type of sound dampener. Personal opinion, Bose is like JL, WAY overpriced.

hey i have wanter to get rid of my Bose speakers and put in better sub but every time i ask some one they say can't be done/ should not be done, how did you get yours done?

@37042mike I have a stock 8 speaker amplified Bose system in my car, best factory system Iv ever heard. The 2 6.5s in my rear deck are pretty much equal in bass to my 10inch P1 Punch at 200+wrms.

i got two 10 inch memphis s class in a box made for 12s bu put 10s in it for now and a rockford fosgate 600 watt amp

i recommend memphis too anyone
