  • keith in his "fat drunk with no stamina or skills" days would shit all over kenney jones anyday. fasima is clearly a kenney jones fan and believes to his soul that he belonged with the who when he clearly didn't. the who for me is 1964 - 1978. kenney jones?? i mean, seriously... i could've provided more spark and energy for this song. kenney jones... pffffffft.

  • Clearly did since from 1979-1982 were amazing. The Who for me is 1964-1982 and Quad/Tommy tours of 80s/90s so there you go...

There were so much sparks during Kenney years on record/live, it's amazing...

    Brlliant energy/playing/music/shows...

That's just the way it is :)

  • Kenny Jones is a fine drummer but should no have been with The Who. He is too smooth and too safe for the wildness of Pete Townsend...

  • Absolutely should ahve been with The Who and thank he was, they were amazing (and better) than anytime (with any drummer) after him on record/live.....

  • It was released as part of the Amazing Journey pack at Best Buy

  • Check out Kenny Jones' solo on the Faces clip

"I 'm Losing You", and you'll see a much better drummer at work. He seemed to play more stiffly with the Who, and I tend to wonder how much of that stiffness was a result of Pete's desire to reshape the sound of the band after Keith died. Kenny's playing on all the Small Faces recordings is very similar to what Moon was doing at the time.

  • @MargusKiistheCritic they were playing this song, with the same arrangement, before Zeppelin even formed.

  • @drummer78 I think the reason for the different sound may have something to do with Pete using one less amp and two less cabs by the '82 tour (from 3 amps/4 cabs to 2/2), because his guitar, picks/strings, and effects were all the same for both.

  • Not the best version of the track but it's OK. Kenny does fine but unfortunately with Keith you got it all, the madness, the feeling, the joy, the interaction and you just knew when he was at his best there was no one better.

  • I love this version...

The encore of this show is one of the best they ever did :)

  • I saw them on this tour just a few days after the tragedy at River Front Colesium. Although Keith was long dead, this was considered a comeback tour of sorts. The film Quadrophenia had just been released (they played the trailer on a screen before the show began) and Pete was about to release Empty Glass. 1979-83 was the era that defined them more solidly as the world's first punk band.

    They were.

  • @tomthefunky: No worries. As you may know, John and Keith were very close. For many years after Moonie died, John was not able to talk about him.

  • This is the third concert I've seen with Kenny, first was '82 Rock America, which somehow didn't sound so good that I'm not blaming Kenny for, the other was World Aid that seemed more who like for me and this is Very Who though as hard as Kenny was hitting the drums, Keith is still missing. There's a DVD to this yeah?

  • @OrrCountry: Touche, my good man. I'd put that accent slash over the letter "e" in the word "touche" if I only knew how. You are absolutely correct, though. Roger wouldn't agree with me either and I was probably drunk when I wrote it, but I get really fucking sick of assholes Kenney-bashing all the time. I guess I was just venting.

  • @tomthefunky Sorry Tom, but John Entwistle NEVER would have agreed with your statement here. And that IS a real fact.
