Actually, many of you will be surprised to know that this is NOT normal lemming behavior. They do NOT perform seasonal suicide jumps. Apparently, much of the "jumping" that you see in this old Disney footage is staged. Someone off-camera was nudging, pushing and tossing the animals. If you watch the animals closely, you can see that their movements into the air often look unnatural and excessive.
