the asian horror movies are the only ones that scare me

what i like about this horror movie is that it's not the simple horror you would expect like in american horror but it is very complex and has many symbols in the movie that you have to try and interpret, just like a novel. very well made movie

It's really cool how this scene works on different levels. (spoilers) On the one hand viewing it for the first time it kind of gives you sympathy for the character of the stepmother, because it plays on the theme of her trying desperately to fit in in the family and be well liked (not that she does not behave in an evil way)...then once you realize this is actually Su-mi thinking that she's the stepmother, you realize the reason why the guy doesn't remember any of it is because it never happened

What I like about this movie is that on most occasions in the movie (like the end of this clip) you see the shock effect coming for literally 1-2 minutes, can at the end pinpoint almost exactly when it will come - and still crap your pants. ;) That's really well done. The makers have a great way of building the tension until you wanna scream: "Grab her already, damnit! I can't stand it anymore!"
