Laptop touchpad alternative

I awared that most laptop users don't feel comfortable with "Touchpad" therefore most people prefer to use external mouse...
The way to use Touchpad is also far different from external mouse.

Do people think "Touchpad" is the only solution for the notebook input device?

Please see my idea :

It has very simple compositions - an optical sensor at the bottom and two click buttons. That's all!
The way to use this input device is very easy and simple. People can place a piece of card on top of the optical sensor and then move it using a thumb! The click buttons' size and location should be designed considering users' convenience.

I believe Touchpad is not the only solution for laptops and this new item can substitute for "touchpad" on the Laptop.

This invention was registered as Korean Patent No.2009-008977 and currently PCT pending.
