Michael Kimballs third novel, DEAR EVERYBODY, is now out in the US, UK, and Canada (http://michael-kimball.com/). The Believer calls it a curatorial masterpiece. Time Out New York calls the writing stunning. And the Los Angeles Times says the book is funny and warm and sad and heartbreaking. His first two novels are THE WAY THE FAMILY GOT AWAY (2000) and HOW MUCH OF US THERE WAS (2005), both of which have been translated (or are being translated) into many languages. He is also responsible for the ongoing art project—Michael Kimball Writes Your Life Story (on a postcard)(http://postcardlifestories.blogspot.com/)—and the documentary films, I WILL SMASH YOU (2009) and 60 WRITERS/60 PLACES (2010).

  • or lets compare the entry where jonothan tries to dig a hole to china, and the gil scott heron poem 'Enough' which uses the same idea in a single line.

ugh I'll begin with the pedantic writing, null boring subjects, sweeping unrelatably vague generaiisations, and the ENDLESS cliche that is this entire book. I'm pretty sure this has all been in shitty disney channel sitcoms at some point.

I am choking this fucker down page by page... it is the worst book I've read in years.

It is melodramatic to an unbearable degree, there is no subtlety whatsoever. I could go on, want page numbers?
