There are ways to get the NES to work wihout the Game Genie. Google 72 "Pin Connector Repair".

It's part of the NES cleaning kit. It's a cart-shaped piece of plastic that you put into the NES to clean the interior.

I'm confused. Why aren't your Zelda games gold, and why is your Gauntlet game a normal NES cart? Normally Gauntlet was a black Tengen cart.

The Zelda games that I got were re-issues.
As for the Gauntlet game, it's possible that Nintendo released its own version.
