My DXD-F Series
Stage 5 South Bend clutch kit was having engagement/dis-engagement problems and in the video the culprit seems to be found in the pressure plate. This is a clutch system for a 1989-1992 Toyota Supra turbo car with the R154 5 speed transmission.

When fully pressing the clutch pedal and revving the throttle, the clutch starts catching (moving the car) at 4,000rpm's and above. This was followed by having general engagement and disengagement problems when driving the car.

  • Southbend Clutch Company fixed the issue and sent me a completely redesigned and updated pressure plate within ~5 days! They're customer service is A+, a big thank you goes to this company. You guys have a lifetime customer!

I'll post an updated Review comment after I've had some good break-in driving mileage with this newer fixed Southbend design :)

  • or.... I was running super stickey mt drag radials and launching at 5500rpm on a 2 step coming out of the hole with 10psi of boost and pulling a 1.6 60 foot. It was a full faced disc and it was not up to the job and heat it saw. since then dxd fixed my issue with a stronger plate and 6 puck disc. If it was a street tire car clutch would of been ok but moment it saw a few hard runs and sticky track and tire it died. Nothing else to say

  • @Jason300zxTT

Then you don't know how to drive or your clutch was not adjusted correctly.

  • whats the highest stage clutch there is? and what are the differences?

  • Just melted my southbend. Complete junk. Made 15 passes on a stock twin turbo Z. (7.7 8th mile car) and got 1200 miles out of and that was the end of it. Fucken melted.

  • i would go spec clutches thats what we use on the 3000gt vr4 racecars

  • Hello!
