Yeah I remember this from my childhood,
Although I have to say the animation just can't compare to Jack Kirby and Joe Sinnots artwork
from the original comic book,
I noticed that they never used Marvel characters from the other comics in that series like The Sub Mariner,
Or Ben Grimm's girlfriend Alicia.

I liked the dramatic music, it was more minimal in animation, but it''s a classic series, with the Hulk and Spidey series, and the Filmation Dc ones.

This stuff is and ALWAYS will be the best cartoons of all times. Thanks Bill and Joe. We will miss two true pioneers.

actually the real reason was because at the time there were legal problems involving the name "human torch". supposedly there were plans for a human torch movie but it never got off the ground. regardless this prevented the usage of the character so they used herbie.

Those Fantastic Four were the best until the new cartoon, when they removed the human torch and was replaced by the robot H.E.R.B.I.E. only because the producers were afraid the kids who watched it could imitate the torch and start playin´ with real fire. Glad the saw soon the mistake they made and in 1994 the torch was back.
