My Iraqi roommate went to a top high school in Baghdad, but not BC. He got out just before the Iran war in 1980, when he was 18. He says Baghdad College was great, and even Saddam's sons went there. He says it was simple politics that closed it, because of the war. National Public Radio had an interview with someone who said BC closing was tragic to anyone who ever knew the place. Muslims said BC let them be better muslims. Seems sad but there are several similar great jesuit schools .

@sancolorado you are absolutely correct. lol. the destruction of iraq has nothing to do with oil, colonialism, Iran-Iraq war, Israel, sanctions, invasion and occupation.
