This is a nervous but inquisitive doe that I spent 10 minutes playing with. I made several grunt calls using my voice to call her all the way in to 30 feet from where I was laying on the ground (which you can see in part 2 of the video.) She started to run away two different times and I was able to grunt her back both times, so I must have been speaking her language! Awesome experience!

  • guy sounds like hes just waiting for the closet to open so he can come out!!!

  • what guy?

  • Nope, she saw me. The wind was actually blowing my direction so she didn't scent me.

  • Yeah, you gotta love that train whistle. It wouldn't be Indiana without a train whistle...the crossroads of America. Believe it or not, that train was almost a mile away, but because I was laying on the ground, it really picked the sound up!

  • my god that is the worst vid i have ever seen.............you happen to have a nasal problem??

  • I take it you don't hunt?...you don't know what deer grunting is?

  • Fairly decent "grunt", considering you're doing it vocally. Wanna sit next to me in my stand?

  • Neat. Isn't that so much fun messing with a deer like this. I was lying on the ground once doing the same as you are doing here.

I was filming and i noticed in my camera's screen as i was watching the deer through the lense that she was close.

I peeked over the lense and she was standing about 7 feet from me. Wow, talk about thrilling, fun stuff.

  • Deer are so stupid, yet SO smart..

  • funny thing is sometimes they're too curious for their own good. i heard a couple of stories from our local hunters where someone would fall asleep while waiting for a deer to show up.. only to wake and find one staring them right in the face because they happened to be snoring! lol and my dad managed to get ones attention by yelling "HEY YOU!!" just before the deer walked out of sight. the moment he spoke the buck stopped and actually turned around.

  • that doe knew you were there from the start, did you have on perfume or what?

  • She may not have been convinced that you were a fawn, some of your calls sounded a bitchstretched out and warped, but the point is you held her there. As long as she didn't get threatened and bolt that's meat on the table. Good job

  • I bet she thought you were a fawn, and she was stompin' at you to try and get you to move/figure out what you were. You so got busted.
