@DarthJac0bus When the Klingon BoP First came out the history of it was that it was part of continuing tech. trade agreements between the Klingons and Romulans. Origionally a Romulan Design, the Klingons helped to provide the tech to produce it, in return for a certain number of the ships. They however had production facilities ready to reverse engineer the ships to create both a Destroyer and Cruiser version of the Ships. That history, however has disappeared with the advent of TNG content.

Can't find it

"Star Trek III: The Search For Spock" named the Klingon ship a Bird of Prey, even though TOS had earlier established the BOP as a Romulan ship. The reason for the same name is that an early version of the STIII script had Kruge being an outlaw who stole a BOP from the Romulans. It was later decided to drop this plot line, in the interests of time and clarity (they thought it would confuse non-fans who saw the movie.) The idea of a "renegade" Klingon chasing Kirk was revived for "Star Trek V."

Go on Memory Alpha (the trek wiki) and you will find that romulans use both ships. The romulan bird-of-prey are, though, very different from their klingon counterparts.

You are right and wrong at once. D'Deridex, which could be seen in TNG is a Warbird, but hiss, from TOS-era, is actualy called Bird of Prey
thanks - but I hated it - I had to do something for the air units in case someone wants to play Romulans.
