amazing seeing this after all of these years. I was an executive at TCM and commissioned and developed this film for the TCM Launch. Chuck Workman and Joseph Lee delivered a beautiful film.

As far as I know, it is from one of Georges Melies' Faust films. He was a french director, very influential in special effects. If you've ever seen the TCM lead ins featuring the man in the moon getting a rocket in his eye, that' Melies too.
