Comet 17P/Holmes underwent a mega-outburst in October 2007. Astronomers Rachel Stevenson (UCLA), Jan Kleyna (University of Hawaii) and David Jewitt (UCLA) observed the aftermath of the outburst in November 2007 using the 3.6 meter wide Canada-France-Hawaii telescope in Hawaii.
They applied a digital (Laplacian) filter to the images they obtained in order to detect small-scale structures within the almost-spherical dust cloud that was ejected.
This animation switches between the unfiltered image and the image that results once a digital (Laplacian) filter is applied. You can see that small-scale features, such as background stars, dust streaks, and dust shells, are highlighted in the filtered image but remain undetectable in the unfiltered image.

@kansasisaband ... often my point is obscured by my delivery/cynicism...
my belief is very much in line with you

@Yoetah You have consciousness, eh? What makes you think the rock doesn't? Since the One/consciousness created all things, I would ascribe some level of "consciousness" to all of creation, without exception. And...honestly, I was just making an observation about the image - dirty snowball, comet, angelic transport ship...whatever. :0

@kansasisaband ... imagine if there was?
It's a stretch in belief from a comet being "a dirty snowball" to a rock with consciousness.
