Since the Ironman Babbit has co-founded Competitor Publishing, which now owns five regional fitness publications around the nation with a total circulation of 415,000. He also co-founded the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF) which has raised over $8,000,000 to help disabled athletes stay in the game plus he created the Muddy Buddy Ride and Run Series-he is the guy in the frog outfit- MR FROG. This 13 events are held around the country. There were over 3500 participants at Chicago.
Babbitt, the co-owner of Competitor Publishing, has been to every Ironman Triathlon World Championship since 1980. He has covered the race as a journalist for 27 years, and he has finished the event as an athlete six times. Babbitt has a weekly radio show called The Competitors and is the author of several books. He is the co-founder of the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF) which raises money to buy handcycles, prosthetics and other adaptive equipment for disabled athletes.

@323sport323 it was a blast!! Tips...if you're competing for the first time in a MB make sure you can run a 5K. When you practice biking go on terrain not on bike trails; gravel roads, ditches, small hills, your lawn...practice biking for 7-8 minutes change to running, then biking, running...because you'll be leap frogging like that on the course. The obstacles weren't too demanding but doing some weight training is helpful. AND go to have fun, you're not in the olympics!!
