@diva1675 My guess is you didn't beat the egg whites enough, or you didn't fold them properly (you overfolded them).

Oh my god, this cake is so delicious. I made it for my mom's birthday and we all loved it! While cooking it I put on my Julia Child DVD with this recipe on it so I made sure to do it like she does, it was like she was in the kitchen lol :)

Everything about her was so geniune, even her cake looked homedmade the way its supposed to look, everything is so over polished now you dont know what food really looks like when you make it at home we expect it to be perfect all th time like a commercial and thats not realistic.
