Your last sentence is dead on. There was even a new report where in Denver I believe it was that they had used traffic cameras for long enough that the recorded incidents had dropped so drastically that they were losing millions in revenue because nobody was running red lights anymore. SO THEY TOOK THEM DOWN SO PEOPLE WOULD START AGAIN! The original plan of reducing accidents worked but once the alterior plan of extreme revenue fell through then the plan suddenly was a wash and not worth it.

supposely if u have a nintendo wii controller powered by a red light camera, the wii-mote's accelerometer interfers the detection system and causes the camera continually flash scrambled photos as long as your within 50 ft of the sensors
