Hey, I was the same way when I was that kid's age. I had my parents bring in trains for the school christmas party, and I was pretty shy about it. I still have all of my toy trains, but they are packed away, because of lack of space in our home. Hopefully, one day I'll have a decent sized layout because I have quite a few of them :P
Most of my trains are from the 1990's, mainly Lionel with 2 early MTH-RailKing Steamers (the early Railking products were REALLY nice).

Your GREAT for our Hobby KBL ! thank's !! :-)
The quiet, concentrating kid is happy enough, just a little bashful doing this once a year show for people he does not know & who ask a lot of questions.
All of this layout is new since 2004 and this is set up in the lobby of a nursing home one day a year(not a house).
All of the newer trains and the tracks are my 12 y/o son's. This includes the Polar Express, NYC diesel set(this and Polar Express powered by can motors) and the Jersey Central FM. He is very particular about his purchases.
