I'm considering becoming a teacher. I'm totally blind and her interview made me so happy seeing how accepting the kids were of her.

my mother is legally blind (macular degeneration from the age of 18) and she taught kindergarten for over 25 years. she recently retired, but I can tell you she, along with this woman here, is pure proof that we are all capable of more than we think we are. true inspiration.

Wow, Mrs. Robinson, you have made me feel much better. Thank you very much. You, I--we have the same circumstances.
She is what is known as "low vision". This means that a person has use of some vision but not enough to be considered sighted. I am also blind and have some partial vision in one eye. I have Cortical Vision Impairment and Nystagmus as well. Also she may be able to notice people raising there hands becuz she has peripheral vision and that part of your vision can see movement better than central vision. She is proving that the blind CAN contribute to society and live a great life.

Go ahead, take advantage. I bet your bottom dollar that she could and would spin circles around you and you would be shocked at what she does. Don't ever underestimate people without sight, that have the courage to do what you think is impossible.
