To make the contents of the cells more visible this clip has had the contrast, saturation and sharpness increased and the colours have been inverted.

  • The reason for the color in these videos is in the nature of the light used in the microscope. Most amoeba have no 'color' at all. But often they can appear green or brown if they have ingested a lot of green algae or diatoms.

  • how can i download

Hi, I don't know. I used to be able to download YouTube clips using Realplayer but this doesn't work any more.

  • If I give you credit, may I download and use this video for a biology project I'm doing about amoebas? (:

    It would be extremely helpful.

  • No problem... help yourself.

  • Do you have videos of water bears?

  • Although I've seen a few they are not common in our swamp. I've been meaning to look in the moss on rocks in the local river but so far have not had the time.

  • @drhodes543 Just google youtube downloader and you can get it for free. Then you just follow the instructions.

  • @drhodes543 downloading can be done through firefox extension called downloadhelper but in most cases, the best way to use the video content, while including all appropriate attribution is to use the (embed code) over to the top right. if you click there, a bunch of options which include the ability to choose player size, including related videos and even color of the player are there. grab the html code and add it to a blog or webpage .then the viewers will have an easy way to follow back here
