Thanks so much for this easy to follow video. I'm a 50 year old woman and just found a duct in my basement totally off the boot(?). So, here I go-I know I can do it :-)

@heaterdawg27 Don't worry, not going to San Diego! I am moving back to Chicago (my home town) in the next 6 months though. Yea, CA is just waaaaay too expen$ive!! Plus, all my family is in Chicago, Pittsburgh and NC. I only have one friend in San Diego.
Thanks for the advice, though! ;)

Nice! This is Mike with ACR SUPPLY in El Paso TX. I think as far as wether its the strap first or the tape first I think it depends on the inspector. Here in El Paso you need to strap the inner membrane, then the outer jacket, tape it and then use a duct sealer. Some inspectors will just be okay with the tape and straps only.

We use a SMART Flow Elbow or FlexRight flex duct brace to form 90 degree elbows to meet Energy Star flex duct installation guidelines.

Nice job, we do things a little differant in Cali. The tape needs to be in contact with the sheet metal and duct, and fastener, not in any order.
I like your HVAC videos, I'm a service Tech. and don't have much sheet metal or duct skills, its cool to see guys take pride in there skills.
