Ellen already leaving American Idol - say what? We've got the story up next.

You're back at your ultimate entertainment news source, ClevverTV. Hey guys - I'm Joslyn Davis with word that after just one season Ellen Degeneres is already backing out of American Idol. This comes as HUGE surprise, considering it was reported that Ellen had previously signed on for a multi-season contract.

Fans of the host and AI judge also thought she'd really be stepping it up after the loss of Simon Cowell - but this is not so....Ellen says she chose to leave the show because she didn't feel like it was the right fit for her. She also admitted that she had a rough time hurting some of the contestant's feelings. But of course she loved the experience and is still a big fan of the show.

So who else is super sad to see Ellen go? I know I am. So now what? Who will take her spot. A few names in the running include Jessica Simpson, Harry Conick Jr, Justin Timberlake, and even Howard Stern. Who do you guys think would be a good fit? I have to admit when I first heard that Ellen was gonna be an idol judge I was pretty excited and was sure she would be perfect for it. But after her appearnce on idol last year I felt that maybe I was wrong. As much as I love Ellen and think she's hilarious, she really didn't add anything at all to the show or make it more interesting (ironic I know). I think she made the right decision to quit the show.
