(best in 720p) - Some laps of Clay Pigeon Raceway in Dorset with a TKM Extreme (115cc air cooled) Kart. The other Karts are mostly Rotax 125cc (water cooled) and TKM.

Camera is a GOPro HD Hero (Motorsport pack) filmed with 'R4' setting (960p) @ 30fps and scaled back to 720p in Premiere. Helmet mount.

Warm day, conditions ideal. Driver average. First time in a Kart for a long time and first time at Clay.

My best lap 39.22s. A decent lap in this class would be less than 34s I think.

Sorry about the odd gloves - I could only find one of each.

Enjoy.

  • Im going there for the first time next weekend

  • think i've seen you at clay :D

  • @levski221 well if you want to start karting, you should probably firsts check out a circuit local to you like clay. Get an idea of the classes they run and then if its acircuit with a shop you can test and purchase karts. You may want to do some hire karting... then purchase a kart ..... do lots and lots of practice before taking a test for a race licence. once you have a licence you can race! hope this helps :D i did this about a year ago ..... check out my channel for more vids

  • I think the only corner you hit well is top bend and you should also take the right hander flat out

  • You could position the kart a bit further to the left at the end of Sturmey Straight into the Hairpin. Should help you hit the apex a bit easier and give you more speed on the exit. Good to see John Crookes still doing the tuning! Top footage as well, those GoPros are slick.

  • how can i become a racer ?

  • Em, well tbh his lines are bad, as hitting the apex is the most important thing, id know i race karts :/

  • @CammyL95

He's not missing them, he's just going fairly slowly because he's probably not very experienced. He's not that comfortable with his kart, but his lines aren't bad.

  • This guy is missing every apex on the track :/

  • lol, my fastest time round clay which i did last weekend was a 34.39 in Junior rotax
