Thanks John. This video has made me cry. I used to go to Margate for a holiday with my parents every year in the sixties when I was a little girl and a teenager. What has happened to this lovely town. My parents are sadly no longer with us, and this video has really upset me as I remember Margate as it was in the sixties. At least I have those lovely memories of lovely Margate when I was young and those memories will be with me forever. Thanks, again John. God Bless.

ive lived here all my life - its sad to know that the town i live in is dead now.... nothing seems to be done about this... moneys spent on westwood cross and a turner center! they need to make it a family place again, fun fun fun place :(

Went to Margate myself today after not being there for over 7 years and i was sad to see how rundown it was now.

it is sad,i have been to margate a lot in my life and did notice it rapidly decline(much like the rest of the country with its open door policy)BUT southend on sea was starting to do the same and have you seen it lately? its getting like the south of france!!!,i reckon margate will come back and when it does work hard to keep it going...ps only fools and horses jolly boys outing was about the last of it being great in my mind :)
