Busted Pipe

Yep.... our dorm is flooding. We've talked to five different people and we can't get anyone to do anything.... so we had to investigate on our own.

first, you had found the source of the water leak and second it is not good for wet carpet to change color especially a dark color almost black as that could be a potential sign of mold.

The carpet was grey, thus it turned pretty much black.... it was just really wet. And we don't even live there anymore.... it was our dorm last year. Oh, and later that day, we finally got it fixed.

why it's flooded? have you set off a fire sprinkler?

I am glad it was not mold and since you no longer live in the dorm with the leaky pipe it is one problem less to worry.
