*The video is quiet, so turn up the volume*

I took both parts of the Pink Floyd song "When The Tigers Broke Free" from the movie (Pink Floyd: The Wall) which are originally separated in the movie, and fused them together to the best of my uneducated technical abilities. Feel free to offer constructive criticism, for I am very new to video editing in general.

Enjoy and be kind in your comments.

ARTIST: Pink Floyd
SONG: When The Tigers Broke Free
MOVIE: Pink Floyd: The Wall

It was just before dawn
One miserable morning in black 'forty four
When the forward commander
Was told to sit tight
When he asked that his men be withdrawn
And the Generals gave thanks
As the other ranks held back
The enemy tanks for a while
And the Anzio bridgehead
Was held for the price
Of a few hundred ordinary lives

And old King George
Sent Mother a note
When he heard that father was gone.
It was, I recall, In the form of a scroll
With gold leaf and all
And I found it one day
In a drawer of old photographs hidden away
And my eyes still grow damp to remember
His Majesty signed
With his own rubber stamp

It was dark all around
There was frost in the ground
When the tigers broke free
And no one survived
From the Royal Fusiliers Company C
They were all left behind
Most of them dead
The rest of them dying
And that's how the High Command
Took my daddy from me

  • when the tigers broke free wasn't on the original final cut album, they added it on later.

You're right. This song was recorded the same time as the album (The Wall) in 1979 but wasn't added because it was thought by other members of the band to be too personal. It wasn't added to (The Final Cut) until it's 2004 reissue.

  • This song reminds me of my daddy. Good and sad at the same time. I love it. <3

  • and the Anzio bridgehead was held for the price... of a few hundred... ordinary lives..

  • It came out as a 45 after the movie

  • Cool. Thx for posting this awesome scene/song. I saw this in the theatre when it was released long ago. I never have gotten the look of the soldier's eyes as he lit his cigarette. A tale written only as Roger Waters could.

  • @corruptsoul69 why were you kicked out?

  • @mellowmark1 i would have definitely loved it on the wall, but i was just glad it made it on to one of their albums, it's a great song. props for combining the two halves.

  • This is why I love YouTube so much! Thanks for posting!

  • Well its about dam time!!
