Rendering Bacon Grease for cooking, a how to video with Jimbo Jitsu on the Farmhouse show.
I used all natural thick sliced bacon for this video I think the flavor of the lard is more versatile than if I would have used a maple cured bacon. Cook up the bacon, using the grease in the George Foreman Grilling Machine catch pan (let it cool 5 min before touching use protective stuff as you like) dump it into a pot that you can use to heat and cool the grease. Heat lard until top is clear cool until a skin develops repeat a few times until the impurities are out, pour the warm grease into a safe container leaving the potlickers in the bottom of the pot. Do not transfer the dregs into the lard dish. Just don't ok, use it to make some gravy or something... Cool your grease and use instead of those processed things they spend money to advertise to you. It's a free by product that is safe if you follow proper food handling guidelines.

  • @2cansofbulmers Thanks! glad you liked it.

  • They are called Revear wear. I'm sorry, but I think they are crazy if they didn't want them.

  • @krollab No, these pots are over 60 years old, they passed on and nobody wanted them so I got them.

  • Thank you for the how to. This may sound stupid, but you have the pot and pans I want. Or maybe just the pot you were using looked like the ones I'm trying to find.

  • @krollab They came from my Grandmother, they were the ones nobody else wanted... the copper bottom is nice for better heat transference.

  • Whenever I make bacon, I save the grease. Later when I'm hungry again, I put the grease into a deep fryer to make bacon-flavored cheese sticks.
