The hellebores in the shade garden. Helleborus niger is getting its first buds, so I am sure it will be in bloom by Christmas. The hardy orange, Poncirus trifoliata 'Flying Dragon,' is going on the sixth winter in the ground, unprotected, in my Indiana garden.

  • Thank you for sharing that information with me. I only have one tree and it has never flowered. I need to order a second one for cross-pollination. Do you know how long it takes for them to flower?

  • I am looking for Buds and don't know if I am seeing another leave or bud growing form the base of the plant? I see a purple growth in the dirt on my whiskey barrel is that a bud ?

  • When you start getting fruit, if you let them turn yellow or fall off the tree on their own, they are like very sour lemons and lose any bitterness when picked too early.
