I forgot to mention this hardware does not exhibit this problem in Arch Linux. Also, it started happening very frequently after a recent "Patch Tuesday"
Microsoft has been denying any problems like this in the media and even blamed an antivirus ISV. This laptop has no such software installed and is a fairly stock Windows 7 install.
I have a similiar problem on my X60 Tablet with Windows 7 and Intel 945 only way I fix it is by going on standby, it only happens on battery.
