Prevent Cesarean Surgery is a short inspirational and entertaining production. Using real quotes spoken by women who have had both a cesarean and vaginal birth, music, photography, and statistics, it presents invaluable information that is researched based. All women of childbearing age will benefit from this educational movie. It is a must see!
Cesarean rates in the United States are at a record high for both new and experienced mothers. Despite vast amounts of research regarding the increased risks for both mothers and babies who experience cesareans compared to vaginal birth, there is a growing acceptance of this surgery in our culture. This movie addresses the question "Why should we try to avoid unnecessary cesareans?" It also presents advice for how to increase the chance of having a normal safe vaginal birth based on recommendations from organizations such as the World Health Organization, Lamaze International, and the Childbirth Connection.

i think doctors opt for c sections far too often and un-necessarily regardless of the mothers preference. there is also a lot of mis-information given.

Absolutely, women need to make their OWN decisions. But those choices need to be based on facts. Unfortunately, the truth about cesarean birth isn't always easy to come by. It is misrepresented by many in the obstetrical community. If women are to give INFORMED consent about what is happening to their bodies, they need INFORMATION that is evidence-based.

Thank you for posting this video. Even if everyone doesn't agree with it's content, it is certainly causing people to THINK and discuss.

I had to have both my children c-sections otherwise i would of never been able to do it on my own, too many complications I was going through and if I didn't have them, my first child could of died and with my second she was too big (8lbs 4oz) I am a tiny lady 5'0 and petite they weren't my first choice but I am glad I was able to bring children into this world natural or not. But yes my first decision was a normal birth, just sadly my body wouldn't let me.

Idiots. U r putting more anxiety and fear into mums who has only option of having c-sections. Patients who has antepartum hemorrhage, breech presentation, failure to progress labour. Are you going to advise these patients not to have c-section and prohibit doctors from saving them and their babies just because you had a bad experience?

Don't listen to these illiterates, be proactive and find out the pros and cons for yourself and make an informed decision

Also if you want a baby bad enough it is well worth the battle scars. Be it stretch marks or a Cesar scar. I could care less if I have Cesar scars, it's a good memory for me. I'm nowhere near selfish or vein enough to give a rats arse. Don't have kids if you arn't prepared to sacrifice your body.

I had no choice but to have a Cesar with my first, we both would have died if it wasn't an option. I felt fine afterwards, besides being tired from labouring. My second was an elective Cesar, no way could I put myself and baby through what I went through last time. I felt bloody awesome afterwards, I was walking around 4or 5 hours later, no worries breast feeding and doing everything for myself. I'm having another one in 6 weeks time and I'm beyond excited, I can't wait. I know what to expect,

I think this video could do a lot more harm than good and frankly is offensive to those who would choose cesarean as there is a lot of misinformation presented in it. When a cesarean is neccessary for health and safety of either mother or child this video fear mongers and insinuates that it may have been unneccessary. Further, this video denigrates those who would freely choose to give birth via cesarean as taking in essay

Doesn't mean that she can never be a mom...If she can see counseling before she gets pregnant, be sure that her family and friends are supportive and loving, and during the pregnancy and birth stages hire a doula to be her professional support, she can be a great mom too. Best wishes!
