Sorry, I don't know remember the name, but I will ask around. I'm almost sure it's not traditional but composed by one of the teachers to let the students get used to playing in minor keys. I'll get back with more.

"I believe it should be translated as "It´s only to beat on" meaning something like "you have to keep up the beat"" might it actually mean it is something to
hit or beat? there are often jokes made about banjo
or bodhran or accordion players that include comments about destroying the instrument in some way, such as throwing in a dumpster (garbage can) I hope there are never jokes like this about out dear nyckelharpa!!

Well, I'm not that sure you're on the right track with "beat". "Klå" literaly means "scratch" and refers in this case to the scratching sound of the bow being pressed against the strings for example when starting off a tune or putting emphasis on any part of it.
But in fact what the man i question (famous NH-player Leif Alpsjö) really meant was something like "the more you play, the better you get"
