This is week three and so far I've done a critical threashold run of 1.5 miles, then last week did 6 quarter mile intervals. This week I run 2 miles at aproximately 75% of a max 2 mile pace. My goal was to stay below 1:50 per lap. It is not exactly Flash Gordon, but then again, I don't run every day.
Ultimately I'm trying to find out if running once per week at a medium to high intensity, mixed with 3 days of high impact body resistance training can improve my running times.
So far. So good.
Remember,
think good. eat right. work hard.

@Adomiso run fast, stay focused, do planks( i usually do 3 sets after every run and they are all usually between 60 and 90 seconds long), eat right, RUN EVERYDAY. running everyday will make you more fit and ready to go. On the runs gradually pick up the speed if you want to... and go for long distance everyday. try to go for 35 minutes non stop for like 4 to 5 days then keep adding minutes onto that time. good luck

@paonek1 exactly! if he would try to land on his forefoot a little more he would be making effortless strides and your calves and shins will thank you for it

@oIIJOSHIIoNe Find out where your nearest Marine recruiting station is. They train their recruits prior to being shipped to camp. They can tell you where they do their 1.5 mile run. Also go to a park>reset your cars odometer>drive around the park and see the distance of 1.5 miles.>run that same distance. By the way the army is not a under 10 minutes unless you're trying to go for special ops or airborne.

Well done. Unless I'm missing something, I don't observe any heel strike. Nice times!

Totally awesome! I'm trying to build my cardio base for the 1.5 mile run. Any advice? Right now I have to stop after 2 laps to take a breather!!
