This is a very nice lift! 1960s touch buttons! COMPLETELY original with exception of electric eye

  • Very nice elevator, and I wonder why floors 2, 3, and 4 are skipped, along with 12 being locked.

  • uhh 2 3 and 4 were originally the store, and im not too sure about why 12 don't work. these only serve one and 11. but they are beautiful!

  • One thing to NOT like about the Heat-Sensitive Buttons: Instant Death Traps.

If they replace the hall stations, then it's fine.

  • you seem to know alot about this. please elaborate. I know fire can ring the elevator? has it ever happened?

  • was 12 locked?

  • Yes it was :(

  • cool...

no stop button (at 1:27 )

  • Very nice elevator, nice fixtures

  • These buttons are not heat sensitive - search Google for "Otis TD73" or "Otis 2040". They work by capacitance and electrostatic field. Wikipedia and electricstuff . co . uk have more information on thyratron tubes.

  • for some odd reason, when ever you run in to an autotronic, 12 is ALWAYS locked

  • How come need to talk softly?

  • is this what u do for a living? get life jimster

  • @georgef551 But if the elevator was equipped with fire service, it would ignore any calls and immediately return to the recall floor. Just check any demo...

  • @suzzex

True, but in these cases, the buttons are triggered, prior to Fire Service being engaged. That's how 2 firefighters on a story got trapped.

  • @Computerhelp92 They are like phantom buttons. They resemble 2, 3, 4, but are labeled no-stop since that is an express zone.
