@AladdinSaneNYC After test driving the Mazda2, Toyota Yaris, Ford Fiesta, and Chevy Sonic, I bought the Mazda2. I was pleasantly surprised by how substantial the car feels, especially considering how light it is. I think it's the most fun to drive and best value for money in its class. The fit-and-finish is flawless and the doors feel German solid when you close them. It's a very well-built car. After testing the Yaris, I was a bit horrified by how subpar Toyota's quality has become.

Ivan: GREAT review! One question, though- Does the Mazda2 feel like a tin can when shutting its doors? You know: a thunk instead of a tink upon closing the doors? I ask because it's so much of a lightweight machine. This is a vehicle I would consider purchasing, though. This and the Toyota Yaris. Will you ever test the 2012 Yaris, BTW?
