@amydutronc Thank you a million times. I've wondered about the Kabaddi thing for over a year since seeing Spaced on Hulu. I found the game on Google but had no idea about the context as you describe. I thought maybe "oh mommy, oh daddy, let's all play kabaddi" was a common saying in England or something.

@headphonic8 Kabaddi was an unusual sport that was show on 'radical' Channel 4 in the 80s when I was little. It became sort of ironically popular with people that grew up then because of it being a bit like a kids playground game and also the fact that they said "kabbaddi, kabaddi, kabaddi, kabaddi, kabaddi" really quickly during gameplay which was, quite frankly, hilarious if you were 8. I guess it's just one of those weird ingrained pop culture references.
