I Looked up the specs for my iPhone 4. I read tons of blogs and everyone said they diner know how to fix. Well with everything to gain I decided to tap and press around on the back of the motherboard as if I was doing brain surgery while making a call to customer care. Well Houston if there's a JLu there is a way. I found the sweet spot. When pressure is applied right below dock and mic flex and above the wifi antenna suddenly the mic began to work. I used battery packaging cardboard in a small L shape then slid the lid back on and screwed the back cover back to phone. And voiala! A mic hack fix for iPhone 4g is born! Hope this helps you!!!!!! Thanks for watching ! Jonathan Luke

  • No dude, I found out that by plugging in the wired headset it will record video with sound, if while recording you unplug it, it will continue to record with sound, there is like a 2-3 second delay, so that's what I've been doing, until I sell it and purchase the iPhone 5 :)

  • @biohazardrica thats a completly differnt issue than what this was treating.. good luck

  • Worked like a charm.. beats all the hardware fixes... thanks a million

  • Thanks dude, you saved me!

  • 2 months arguing with Apple and 3 got me no where, 2 minutes watching this vid and it's fixed. Many thanks.

  • @royallush I dont know what type of sorcery this is but it fixed my iphone. Thanks dark wizard.

  • Muchísimas gracias!!!!!. I have been testing for an hour with and without hands-free set, turning the phone off and on several times and did not fail! May be it is too early to celebrate, but five calls in a row are a really big success after 4 months knocking the back of my Iphone every 30 secs. Thank you so much from Madrid!!!

  • This worked like a charm. Thank you! I had no voice on calls but everything else like voice memos was fine. Had tried full restore, latest firmware, turn off 3G, Network...etc; but this was the ONLY fix. You are a CHAMP!!

  • iphone 4 about 6months old.. Couldn't hear me when making phone calls..It could record the voice memos with no problem ... Made a call to at&t customer care and they said all i had to do is up grade the software to fix it ..My wife was trying to make it work and put pressure in the spot you said to put the cc ...So i know before i took it apart that this would fix it since putting pressure there would make it work...Thanks a bunch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hahaha thanks man.. It really works

  • Thanks, man. Your trick save my phone. I have done it for 2 weeks by now and still working flawleesly.

  • Dude your the best, you fixed my microphone!!! THANKS

  • Hey man, Thank you very much for sharing it fixed mine too! What probbably the problem is that a couple of lines coming fron the power source (battery) having a bad connection or so. By pressing on it somhow they connect again and give power to a part of the phone which gives the sound signal through the network! but thanks anyway. Another fix could be by changing the battery! this fixes the bad connection and is very easy to do yourself!
