I'm sick of all these identity issues. Scenesters say they are emo, mallcore say their metal, people say metalheads are metalturds. I just decided to make a video because nothing will change if I don't, although nothing will change if I do, it doesn't matter, because I'm bored.

  • very good video. i get pissed off at identity issues. with all due respect, as far as mentality of a 'poser' goes i dont like bands that sell out. but at the end of the day its because of the fact that many of those who sellout have a crave for money and personal gain, which i detest. metal was always meant to be about music, not money.

i also dont like it when people try to label themselves as metal because they think its cool and rebellious.

i do it for the music and to be individual.

  • @darkshredder95 I know what you're talking about. I've been all about the music too. If you want to check out my music, there's a facebook link on my channel's profile section.

  • what's the music? i like it.

  • @wolfie42874 First song is Racer X's "Technical Difficulties"

But there are other bands and songs too. I put annotations that you can put your mouse over if you want to know what the songs and bands are.

  • To the poster (Bassbait): I wonder, why is it necessary to describe how you came to metal? I know it probably feels nice to "spread the word" about the bands you like, but you must know that other metal heads probably find those kinds of bands to be blah or boring. Not to say that any one band is "better" than another, though.

Anyway I realize that this comment is probably 95% pointless. Heh. :)

Nice vid though & well articulated. Didn't even know there was such a thing as "mall core".

  • Thumbs up on "Piranha" at the end there. When you think "thrash" metal you think Exodus. saw em last year, great show.

  • @Dude11191 then yeah

not an attack on you i've had friends like that

we all decided on this thing called rock observance

trust me its kinda easier than labeling yourself

  • @systemofachemicalnir yes i do

  • @Dude11191 depends do you consider yourself metal

  • I like korn theyre my favorite band acyually and eminem/slipknot but I also like Nile,Tool, meshuggah,Behemoth, pantera,Testament,Metallica,Iron maiden,Manowar,Fleshgod apocalypse and Electric wizard...So am I a poser? Yeah anyone who says yes is probably a poser.

  • It's ironic how you denounce 'ignorants' when you seem pretty ignorant.
