It is finished! The NESynth. Or NES controller synthesizer thing. I've been working on this off and on for almost 4 months now. Finally I got around to completing the actual build. Jammed inside the controller is an Arduino Pro Mini, some little batteries, a switch and a headphone jack.
Based on what buttons you press, it will play a range of about 100 different notes. Hold Select to switch through the 6 badass modes, or to edit the octave and note time. It pumps out a squarewave pattern, so it kinda sounds like a real NES!
The software was written by me, with a few bits from the internet hacked all together. Some inspiration and help from Joven at http://www.protodojo.com . Also used bits from http://www.arduino.cc/playground/Main/Freqout and http://little-scale.blogspot.com/2007/07/nes-controller-to-arduino.html
Check out http://secretprojects.ca for other dumb crap I do.
