The House of Rotschild (1934) - opening scene

The opening scene from 20th Century Pictures' 1934 attempt to put the Rotschild family in a more favorable light. Produced by Darryl Zanuck and directed by Alfred Werker. Starring George Arliss as both Amschel and Nathan Rotschild and Boris Karloff as the evil antisemite Count Ledrantz.

The jewish stereotypes in this hollywood movie got parts of it to be included in Fritz Hippler's 1940 movie "Der Ewige Jude".

It was nominated for best picture at the 1935 academy awards but lost to "It Happened One Night" starring Clark Gable.
