If it's that popular in Japan, then surely there would be more American otaku speaking of it then there currently are; and seriously, not "everyone" knows this series: I (previously) didn't know about it, the members of my Otaku Club have never heard of it, Barnes&Noble doesn't recognize it; yeah, this series has obviously way down the list of popular anime.....

@otaking3582 If you meant "haven't even heard of", I'm not sure what you're talking about. Bakemonogatari's Blu-ray sales broke a record and it's one of SHAFT's most successful anime (besides Madoka). Everyone knows Bakemonogatari, especially the Japanese.

@otaking3582 you must have a pretty shitty club then. i bet you guys just watch naruto and bleach all the time and think you guys know all about anime. To not know an anime that is highly acclaimed and talked about like this series is pretty upsetting for an "otaku" dont you think.
